Frequently asked questions

Why tallow, and does it stink?

No, it doesn't stink. We use high-grade, pure white, meticulously purified grass-fed tallow that is completely odorless before we blend in the remaining ingredients, including our signature scent.

We choose tallow because it is the ultimate natural driver for high-performance grooming. Unlike heavy synthetic waxes or cheap oils that just sit on top of your hair and skin, tallow matches your body's natural chemistry perfectly. We don't do crunchy hair. It absorbs deeply, locking in genuine moisture, conditioning the hair from the inside out, and providing a clean, all-day hold without the greasy buildup. It’s the OG standard of premium ingredients, brought back for the modern man.

Will tallow make my hair super greasy, clog my pores, or cause breakouts?

No. Unlike heavy petroleum-based products or synthetic greases that smother your skin, tallow is often considered low-comedogenic, particularly when highly purified and properly formulated. Because its molecular structure closely mirrors your skin's natural oils, it absorbs nicely, allowing your skin to breathe while delivering deep nourishment.

What is the shelf life of your products?

Because we refuse to fill our tins with harsh chemical preservatives, our all-natural formulas stay fresh for about 12 months after opening. Keep your tin sealed tight and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain the perfect consistency.

Is your tallow grass-fed?

Yes, absolutely. We source exclusively high-grade, 100% grass-fed, pasture-raised tallow, resulting in all of our products having essential vitamins A, D, E, and K. Because we don’t compromise on quality, our tallow is meticulously purified to be odorless before we blend in our custom scents.

We refuse to use anything less than grass-fed because it holds the highest standard for performance. It retains the clean, vital nutrients that mirror your body's natural chemistry perfectly, giving you a premium, deep-conditioning hold without any heavy buildup or shortcuts.

Do your products or ingredients have any additives or preservatives?

The only preservative we use is naturally derived from the Earth: Vitamin E. Absolutely zero synthetics. Every single ingredient that goes into our tins is 100% pure. None of our ingredients have fillers or chemical additives. We don't do corporate shortcuts. We keep the formulas clean, heavy-duty, and uncompromising. This is the Standard.

What does it smell like?

We don't do those cheap, overpowering chemical scents. Our batches are scented with our signature scent blend, "Mob Boss". It is formulated with premium, clean 100% natural essential oils. It's a return to classic masculinity. Not loud, but respected. Mob Boss blends fresh blood orange notes with rich woods, subtle earthiness, and a smooth, sophisticated finish.

It’s clean but rugged, refined yet powerful — the kind of scent that feels at home in a traditional barbershop, a tailored suit, or anywhere in between.

Do your products work as well as regular products?

"Regular" products aren't the standard anymore.

For decades, the grooming industry replaced real ingredients with cheaper synthetic alternatives. Then they spent billions convincing people that natural meant weaker, while lab-made meant better.

The opposite is often true.

Men groomed with tallow, plant oils, botanical extracts, and traditional ingredients long before the modern grooming aisle existed. Those ingredients weren't chosen because they were trendy. They were chosen because they worked.

We don't make "natural versions" of conventional products.

We make products the way they should've been made from the beginning—using ingredients with a purpose, not a profit margin.

No fillers. No shortcuts. No marketing gimmicks.

Just barber-made formulas built to perform.

Do you ship outside of the USA?

No, not right now.

Currently, we only ship within the United States as we focus on getting Batch #001 out the door and perfecting our process. We don't have a definitive timeline for international shipping just yet and we refuse to expand until we can guarantee our high standards of delivery and product freshness carry across borders seamlessly.

If you're outside the US and want to join The Mob, drop your email anyway. When we’re ready to expand the territory, you’ll be the first to know.
